Dr. Toda is a professor of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at Kawasaki Medical School in Japan. He worked for more than 15 yeas at Okayama University Hospital with Prof. Sano, who is a famous cardiovascular surgeon for pediatrics and who improved outcomes in neonates undergoing the Norwood procedure for hypoplastic left heart syndrome by producing an RV-PA shunt. His interests are blood transfusion management in children with congenital heart diseases and postoperative complications, especially acute kidney injury. He was delighted with this invitation from the society because he was trained at Department of Anaesthesia and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit in Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne when he was young. He is currently working as a committee member in the Japanese Society of Anesthesiologists, Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine and Japanese Society of Pediatric Anesthesia and a board member in Japanese Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesia.
