Elizabeth Papathanassoglou

Dr Papathanassoglou is a professor at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta.

Dr Papathanasoglou is currently exploring the effects of stress and relaxation-inducing interventions in critical illness, and critical care practitioners’ views and attitudes towards implementation of integrative therapies in critical care. Additionally, she explores issues around nurses’ stress, inter-professional collaboration, nursing autonomy and clinical decision making, as well as patients’ rights and ethical aspects of critical care. She employs a wide range of research methods, combining laboratory, quantitative and qualitative methods.

 She is an elected Ambassador of the World Federation of Critical Care Nurses (WFCCN) 2015-2020 and co-Editor of CONNECT: The Official Journal of WFCCN. She has a record of over 150 publications in peer reviewed journals, and over 290 conference papers.

She has 20 years of teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate level, and has advised numerous graduate students.
