Chae-Man Lim

Dr. Lim is a professor of the department of Internal Medicine, director of intensive care units, at the Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan College of Medicine, Seoul, the Republic of Korea. Dr. Lim received training in internal medicine, respiratory and critical care medicine at Asan Medical Center.

Dr Lim’s main research has been focused on gas exchange in pulmonary diseases, mechanical ventilation, and diaphragm. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles. Dr Lim received Respiratory Care Specialty Award of the Society of Critical Care Medicine two times, 1998 (“Optimal dose of perfluorocarbon for respiratory mechanics in partial liquid ventilation for dependent lung-dominant acute lung injury”), and 2008 (“Effect of rifampicin added to vancomyin for the treatment of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus pneumonia”).

He served as chairman of the scientific committee of the World Federation of the Societies of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine (WFSICCM) held in Seoul in Sept 2015. Dr. Lim is past President of the Korean society of critical care medicine.
