Priscilla Stephenson has been a Registered Nurse in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for the last 14 years. Following two years at Seattle Children’s Hospital in the USA she returned to Australia where she worked as a Nurse Coordinator for 11 years. In this role she worked with the long stay and complex PICU patients and families at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. She completed her Masters of Advance Nursing Practice at the University of Melbourne in 2018. Her minor thesis explored the parental experience of long stay care provided by the multidisciplinary team in PICU at the Royal Children’s Hospital. In 2019, Priscilla was successful in gaining a clinical fellowship at Safer Care Victoria where she will undertake a 12-month secondment within the Paediatric Clinical Network. She will be undertaking training in improvement science methodologies and leading a State-wide quality improvement project.
