Michael is an anaesthetist specializing in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and intraoperative transoesophageal echocardiography. Graduating from Monash University in 2003, he completed his specialist anaesthetic training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He undertook overseas fellowships at Toronto General Hospital in Liver transplantation, Cardiac anaesthesia and cardiovascular intensive care. During his time at Toronto General, he was the Chief Fellow of Anaesthesia and conducted research into metabolomics and rocuronium and tranexamic acid pharmacokinetics in adult liver transplant patients. He is currently employed as a staff anaesthetist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
