Professor Marion Mitchell is the Chair of Critical Care Nursing at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Griffith University, School of Nursing and Midwifery in Brisbane, Australia. She holds an Honorary Fellowship at the School of Health in Social Science – The University of Edinburgh in the UK. Her research focuses on improving ICU patient and family-centred outcomes and enhancing education both in the clinical area and tertiary sector. She is a previous President and current Fellow of the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN). She was awarded Life Membership in 2012 for distinguished and notable contribution to ACCCN and critical care nursing. She is ACCCN’s representative and Company Secretary for the World Federation of Critical Care Nurses. Professor Mitchell is on the Editorial Board of the journal Australian Critical Care, provides peer reviews for a number of other scholarly journals and has around 100 published articles.
